About the artist
Lucia Heffernan was born in Taiwan in 1966. Her mother, who was a teacher and a watercolour artist, inspired her to draw and paint at a very early age. In the year 2000, Lucia moved to Utah where her creative focus shifted from digital design to oil painting. Her works are in the style of contemporary realism.
Lucia's body of work is an expression and exploration of her lifelong fascination with animals. Through her paintings, she seeks to give animals a voice and a personality. The mix between animal and human sensibilities creates a whimsical, theatrical, and humorous world that is very relatable to everyone.
