Connecting Brand Authenticity with Backcountry Gifts,

Brand authenticity involves choosing to use your own voice to build your brand rather than imitating others. In today's world of digital media and algorithms, this can appear both simple and challenging.

"Authenticity is magnetic." We have all been in stores that, though lovely, don't seem to stand out. This is maybr because they are trying too hard to be something they are not. What works for one website, store, or blog isn't going to work for all.

So, what is Backcountry Gifts' brand? And are we being authentic? No idea.

Understanding is a start .

So, what does brand authenticity mean for backcountry gifts? We believe it involves marching to your own beat, staying true to the country spirit, while remaining open to global ideas. It means understanding your products, being transparent about your knowledge of them, even if, unfortunately, that knowledge is minimal at times

Is it also benificial to customers to know when there isnt alot of knowlege ? Or would we rather have the decretive words to possibly over explain something?

Are the embellishments necessary?

At Backcountry Gifts, we aim to keep things simple—relaxed, creative, with a touch of sarcasm.

Building Brand Authenticity

- The Backcountry: what is it, where is it? It's usually found outside the city. It's usually a remote, undeveloped area, void of noise. Gifts? Well, that can be anything from time to a new picture.

- At Backcountry-gifts, our goal is to responsibly tell the stories of the products we offer, while maintaining the rugged and untamed nature of the Backcountry and the unique gifts available.

- In developing the Backcountry Gifts brand, we might write blog posts about products and gifts, and on occasion life behind the counter.

Staying True to Brand Authenticity in a World of AI and Algorithms

Automation can replicate tone, but to be true to your brand, don't we need the messiness of human tone too? AI tools are both cheaper, faster, and more accessible. There is a growing flood of AI-generated content which, though it's ticking all marketing algorithms, can feel impersonal and feel like we no longer "see the forest for the trees" (focusing on the small details, can we loose sight of the authenticity).

We think that, though we may lose some of the clicks by not having perfectly formulated posts that tick all the algorithmic marketing boxes, doing so seems like we are no longer authentically marketing our brand.

So, what have we concluded?

No idea, we will try to remain authentic, we will try to build a brand that feels real feels different and hopefully our customers will enjoy and continue to support and hopefully by beating our drum in our own way we can continue to grow Backcountry-gifts, and we will continue to ponder what makes Backcountry gifts.
